The Centers for International Trade Development (CITD) were established 15 years ago to enhance the global competitiveness of California companies and to support international trade development in local communities. Currently, there are 14 CITD offices throughout California.

It is one of ten initiatives of the California Community College Economic & Workforce Development Program, which generates a 12:1 return on the State's investment, delivering the most comprehensive, direct business assistance services throughout the State.

The CITDs have over 40 Service Delivery Points throughout California and Partnership Agreements with almost 200 Organizations throughout the State, 98% of which are Public Entities.

Each year, many companies participate in CITD organized trade missions to a variety of international destinations, often with the assistance of Federal partners that include the U.S. Department of Commerce and the Foreign Agricultural Service (FAS), with their many overseas offices.

Last year companies that worked with CITDs reported trade transactions of over $230 Million.

The Sacramento Regional Center For International Trade Development has helped over 5,000 businesses in the Greater Sacramento Region reduce trading risks, find new clients and increase profits.

We also have trained more than 100 students in the past 10 years and increased their International Trade’s knowledge and experience through our 6-month Internship Program.
